Following you passion can be rewarding, heartbreaking, back bending, and the best thing you will ever do. No one knows this better than Darshon Haines at Butterstuphd Premium Medicinal Edibles, well other than his two partners of course. Darshon initially wanted to be a CAD designer when he was growing up but taking a summer job at Taco Bell turned all that around for him. That job unearthed his hidden passion for culinary excellence. From humble beginnings he followed his passion all the way to achieving the title of best new chef of NE Ohio in 1998. For the past 16 years he has been deeply rooted in Oklahoma and has aimed his goals to helping the medical marijuana patients of Oklahoma find healthy relief.
Joshua Rydberg, another part of the awesome trio, started in the dish pit of McDonald’s. He worked his way across several states cooking to his hearts content and finally landing in the good old Sooner State. Unfortunately, in April of this year Joshua passed away, but his passion for helping people has brought him into the cannabis industry, with a fire to help those who are struggling. So much so, that he created the Butterstuphd Stimulus. Teaming up with Great Barrier Reef Dispensary in Bethany, Butterstuphd donated product to be given to Oklahoma Cannabis Patients that were seriously suffering during the COVID-19 pandemic. When I spoke with Darshon, he was passionate and adamant that both he and the other part of the trio, Scott Hess, would do everything possible to honor Joshua’s memory and continue to make their brand all about teaching, creating, deliciousness, healing, and positive vibes. Scott, an accountant and tax specialist, has called Oklahoma home for the past 13 years and is lending his help and support to the team to bring these amazing edibles to the cannabis community throughout the state.
