Herbage Magazine, a leading voice in contemporary lifestyle, politics, and cannabis culture, is seeking a talented and versatile Freelance News Writer to contribute to both our print and digital platforms. This role is ideal for a writer who is deeply immersed in the nuances of lifestyle trends, political developments, and the evolving cannabis industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Content Creation: Regularly produce high-quality, engaging, and accurate articles on lifestyle, politics, and cannabis. Content should be compelling and align with Herbage Magazine’s tone and style.
Research: Stay abreast of the latest trends and developments in lifestyle, politics, and the cannabis sector. Utilize a mix of interviews, studies, and other research methods to inform writing.
Pitching Ideas: Actively pitch innovative and relevant story ideas that cater to the interests of Herbage Magazine’s diverse readership.
Collaboration: Work closely with the editorial team to refine articles, adhere to deadlines, and align content with upcoming themes or special issues.
Adherence to Standards: Ensure all content is factually accurate, complies with journalistic ethics, and adheres to the magazine’s editorial guidelines.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in journalism or content writing, with a portfolio showcasing published works in lifestyle, politics, and/or cannabis.
Strong research and interviewing skills, with an ability to distill complex topics into engaging, reader-friendly content.
Excellent writing and editing abilities, with attention to detail.
Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and pitch compelling story ideas.
A passion for and understanding of current trends and issues in lifestyle, politics, and cannabis.
Work Environment:
This is a freelance position with flexible hours, allowing for remote work.
