The Daze of a Trimmer

Business Culture FEATURED Grow
Trimmer

by Kathleen Clark

In the beginning everything that could go wrong went wrong.

The first time euphoria from getting to work on the inside of a grow operation is difficult to put into words. I have enjoyed other aspects of the Cannabis industry but after spending over 10 years catering to customer service jobs I have a new respect for a calm easy going work environment.

Getting to experience the plethora of Cannabis Gardens in Oklahoma has been a bitter/sweet experience. Most of the time the trimmers don’t have a designated work space. We usually end up in the dry room, or where the next crop of plants is growing under multiple lights in a room that struggles to stay under 80 degrees.

I think most of us who make it past the first few months of being new to the cannabis world figure it out fairly quickly.

Just because we are in the Cannabis industry doesn’t mean everyone is easy going or like minded. A lot of people don’t hesitate to stab you in the back or step on your throat if it means they can “surpass” you in whatever race they have going on in their head.

But then sometimes you meet a like minded soul that becomes part of your tribe. Someone you feel like you’ve known a lifetime and who has better intentions for you and your future than most of the people you end up surrounded with.

You can’t be so closed minded that you won’t absorb new information but also don’t be so open minded that “you let everyone in”.

It’s a balancing act of figuring out people’s true intentions and the purity of their energy. So in the mean time take deep breaths and smoke a fat one for me, let the universe take its time in molding you to be the very best version of yourself.
